    Lightbulb [tabela arp] - Obtendo o nome do host e o MAC address rapidamente

    Simplesmente no shell, como usu�rio root, comande:

    # arp

    A sa�da ser�:

    Address HWtype HWaddress Flags Mask Iface ether C eth0

    Onde:
    • Address - � o nome do host: computador, roteador, switch, impressora e outros, e qual dom�nio ou grupo ele pertence.
    • HWtype: Ether - tipo de hardware; se � ethernet ou n�o, ou outros modelos, como FBBI, equivalente a fibra �tica.
    • HWaddress - MAC Address f�sico da placa de rede ou interface.
    • Flags Mask: C - m�scara da rede.
    • Iface: eth0 - o alias/apelido dado pelo sistema operacional para a interface de rede.

    Outras vezes queremos saber o MAC ADDRESS de um determinado ip,
    para tal podemos fazer o seguinte:

    # for g in $(seq 1 254) ; do arping -c 1 192.168.0."$g" | tee >> eu ; done ; cat eu | grep reply

    A ferramenta usada o "arping".
